Abdulrahman Yinusa, AY as he is fondly called by colleagues is a thoroughbred finance professional with over 3 decades of quality experience in the Banking and Finance industry before joining Odu’a Investment Company Ltd, first as Executive Director & Group CFO in 2023 where he commenced putting in place the essential building blocks of financial transparency by securing the first Credit Rating of “A” by Agusto & Co within the first year of his engagement. He was subsequently elevated to the position of Group Managing Director/CEO in 2024. He is considered a strong team player across the Group and other stakeholders. He is uniquely positioned to carry on with implementation of the shared vision of the Board to ensure continuity and completion of many signature projects, which includes the rebirth of our hospitality business, such as redeveloping Premier Hotel into a World Class hotel and conferencing center and Lagos Airport Hotel into a Multi-Use prime destination on the Lagos Mainland to mention just a few.

Prior to joining Odua, he retired from Diamond Bank (now part of Access Bank) as an Executive Director and CFO, where he participated in various capital raising exercises both locally and internationally. He also participated actively in the M&A process that led to the acquisition of Intercontinental Bank UK that became Diamond Bank UK. Before then, CBN appointed him as ED, Finance and Strategy at Finbank Plc (in the aftermath of the 2008 banking crisis) and was part of the team that facilitated the successful merger of Finbank with FCMB. Prior to the CBN appointment, he was pioneer Managing Director of UBA subsidiary in Sierra Leone where he established the Head Office in Freetown and built five branches across the country within two years. And prior to his offshore assignment, he was the Managing Director/CEO of UBA Asset Management Limited, where he launched four Mutual Fund products within two years. And prior to that, he functioned in other capacities, including Treasurer and CFO during his 13-year career within the UBA Group (1996-2009).

His career started at then Nigeria International Bank (NIB), now Citibank Nigeria in 1989 straight from University for NYSC and was promoted three times during his 3-year career in Citibank before he left in 1996 to join FSB International Bank (now part of Fidelity Bank) to take on a more challenging responsibility as the Financial Controller at a relatively young age of 26 years old untill he left in 1996 to join UBA Plc for the first major turnaround of a systemically important old generation bank in Nigeria.

He is an Ahmadu Bello University B.Sc. Accounting Graduate and also holds both M.Sc. Economics and MBA degrees from the University of Lagos. He is a certified member of many professional institutions, including being Fellows of both ICAN and CIBN. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Chartered Institute of Taxation and Nigeria Institute of Management. He also holds the Treasurer Dealership Certificate and Fellow of CIoD. He has attended a wide range of professional and general management development courses in prestigious institutions across the world, including University of Cambridge, IMD in Switzerland, the world-class Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD in France and Harvard Business School, USA. He is married with children.
